Kris Foate

Kristine G. Foate is the past President/CEO of the Greater Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce.  Prior to joining the Chamber she was the Director of Marketing and Development for the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne.  Kris served as the Vice President of Operations of Pinpoint Publishing a local niche publishing company and is the former President and CEO of Summit City Radio Group, a group of radio stations in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  From 2001 to 2004 Kris was the Vice President and General Manager of Illini Radio Group in Champaign, Illinois.

From 1991 until 2001 she served in various leadership capacities at Journal Broadcast Group including General Sales Manager, Station Manager and Vice President and General Manager of WKTI-FM in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and subsequently as Vice President and General Manager of KTNV-TV in Las Vegas, Nevada.   From 1982 to 1991 Kris worked her way up through the ranks at Shamrock’s WQFM-FM in Milwaukee and finished her tenure as General Manager.  She began her broadcast career in Madison, Wisconsin at WLVE in 1981, where she was an account executive.

During her leadership the stations she has led have attained national recognition including Country Music Association’s Station of the Year, Billboard and Airplay Monitor Radio Station of the Year.  Kris is the recipient of the Radio Ink magazine’s 1999 Radio Wayne Award for General Manager of the Year. In 2002, the launch year of the Most Influential Women in Radio mentorship program, Kris was in the first group “mentees”.  She was named one of the “50 Most Influential Women in Radio” by Radio Ink Magazine in 2004, 2005 and 2006.  She was one of ten nominees in the Fort Wayne area for the 2006 ATHENA Award.

Kris takes her responsibility to the community seriously.  She is active in United Way of Allen County and serves on numerous boards including Leadership Fort Wayne, Artlink and Erin’s House.  She is a graduate of the Leadership Fort Wayne class of 2006.

Ms. Foate holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Illinois and a Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin.
